Inlays and Onlays are lab-made restorations that are placed on teeth when the cavity or lost tooth structure is too large to be restored by a simple filling. The process of making an inlay is very similar to a crown. After the tooth is prepared, it is cemented or bonded to the tooth.
When you've got damage or decay within the cusp of a tooth, a porcelain inlay is used just like a traditional filling, but looks much more natural. Oftentimes they'll be used to replace failing traditional fillings in a far more advanced, durable way. Onlays are used to treat the same damage or decay entire crown.

Metal restorations are in the past. They're unnatural, unsightly, and are prone to plenty of types of damage. They're even susceptible to falling out, since the even best fitted metal filling is still, at it's core, an amalgam smashed into the damage and sealed. Our high quality, high tech porcelain in and onlays are color matched to your teeth and stand up to far more abuse than their archaic counterparts. With the lab fit process, each one can be bonded much more securely to the tooth, as well !
